We arrived in Mindelo, Sao Vicente at 2am on 19th December.
1000 miles sailed in 108 hours. A fast passage and our first taste of trade wind sailing. Downwind and down waves. The boat likes to surf. We celebrated Dawn’s 40th birthday about 300 miles West of Mauritania.
Great to be back in Cabo Verde. Mindelo is a charming old colonial town with music everywhere and a fine selection of backstreet grogue shops. Now planning to set sail for Antigua 27th Dec.

Happy Birthday Dawn! Nice to look at your photos and follow your sailing.Gerry jealous of your trade wind sailing.We met you in Lanzarote – my husband Gerry was in Spirit of Adventure from Canada. They had a slow passage to Grenada damaging the spinnakers not good for downwind sailing! While I think of it…what was the name of the place to stay in Sark? Safe travels. Patty Vandergrift
